Biography
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and the George Washington University Law School with Honors, Jim was admitted to the New York State Bar. He began practicing entertainment law with a New York law firm before joining the Business Affairs Department at the William Morris Agency in New York. At William Morris, Jim negotiated agreements on behalf of their client actors, directors, producers, playwrights, authors and music groups. Jim currently provides Business Affairs services in the television, feature film, internet and ancillary rights markets; including negotiating, drafting and reviewing production agreements (talent, rights, director, post-production and all other above- and below-the-line elements), talent holding agreements, option/literary purchase agreements, collaboration agreements, co-production agreements and network licensing/acquisition agreements. He has negotiated agreements for clients with Nickelodeon, Nick, Jr., ESPN, Fox, HBO, Bravo, ABC Daytime, A&E Networks, AMC, Discovery Networks, Comedy Central, Disney Channel, AOL, HBO Family, heavy.com, here!TV, IFC, Logo and MTV Networks.
